The Story Behind
Ever since Rankin/Bass Productions introduced the stop-motion TV special in December 1964, Montgomery Ward’s 1939 storybook character created by Robert L. May became a massive pillar of holiday pop culture. Written by Romeo Muller and featuring timeless tunes by Johnny Marks, the production forever changed Christmas broadcasting. This official 2026 collector box pays direct homage to that stop-motion heritage by accurately capturing every major character and Misfit Toy from the original color film reels with sharp precision.
Every mini figure inside this collection reflects the whimsical charm of the classic puppet armatures. From the deep red trimming on Santa’s coat to the icy fur detailing on Bumble and the iconic polka-dot pattern on the Misfit Elephant, the paint applications capture the exact palette of the original December broadcasts. Placing these figurines across your mantle, desk, or around your holiday tree creates a direct link to vintage television history, giving avid collectors a dedicated display of fan pride.
Care and Maintenance Guide
To maintain the pristine finish of your vinyl mini figures across every holiday season, dust them gently using a dry or lightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid applying harsh liquid detergents, rubbing alcohol, or abrasive pads, as chemical solvents can strip the fine hand-painted details and protective clear coat. Keep the mini figures stored in a climate-controlled space away from direct, high-heat sources to prevent structural warping in the dense PVC material.
Each figure features a solid, counterbalanced hand-feel with wide, flat base plates engineered to remain standing on felt runners, wooden mantels, or fluffy tree skirts. The outer cardstock box utilizes high-tensile paperboard walls and precision-perforated doors. This heavy-duty construction allows clean daily openings while preserving the front artwork, permitting fans to use the box graphic as a permanent background scene throughout the entire month of December.
